News from phlegmville

I got through the 10/15 rush, and took off sick yesterday and today. My feverishness is subsiding, but a persistent cough combined with a "gasping for breath" feeling when I foolishly attempt a deep breath still are taking some of the starch out of my shirt. But I plan to work tomorrow, at least some, unless I take a bad turn for the worse.

Meanwhile, our internet connection was mysteriously down for about a day, so instead of going online, my naps were punctuated by reading the new Atlantic that arrived (great article by Virginia Postrel on how real estate prices get inflated in cities where rich busybodies live), and being awake. It's been raining or cloudy all the last two days - raining now.

Exciting news: Dan's Saturn V jazz combo has a gig - one they will get actually paid for! Woo hoo. They will be the entertainment for an Iowa Heart Association benefit. Here is the most recent you tube of them, at Court Avenue in Des Moines for the Farmer's Market:

Dan is cooking dinner tonight - it's a cultural project for his Spanish class. He was just helping Dorothy sort her meds for the week because Vickie is still to sick to do so. And Bobby is fine and back in school. This is such an annoyingly lingering bug...

You said your feverishness was subsiding, which says to me that it isn't completlely gone. In addition to that you're still coughing up the occasional lung. Don't be a martyr! Only go back to work when you're loads better! Your coworkers won't thank you for coughing in the recycled air that they use and more importantly, you'll mend more quickly at home!!

Dan is a great guy! Cooking for his family, helping his gran with her pills AND being a paid musician! WOW!

It sounds like you need to visit the doctor. Your lungs may need some help to heal, especially if you feel you are gasping. As the Mom of an asthmatic kid I have seen lung things get ugly fast. Please get it checked out.

Dan can come here and sort pills anytime.

Congrats to Saturn V
