Scenes from the homecoming parade

This is Homecoming Weekend at Valley High, and the parade was yesterday. It was a good one. Unfortunately I choked when Dan walked by, pressing the "off" button instead of the big picture button, so no Dan. Still, some good shots.

Here marching band member Jery is a homecoming king nominee. He is the choice of the marching band, so therefore he's our choice.

Here is the float for the student killjoy club, SADD (formerly "Students Against Drunk Driving," now "Students Against Destructive Decisions"). If I spent my time worrying about other students having too much fun, I'd be sadd too.

This is pretty exciting. Shawn Johnson won three gold medals in the World Championship in gymnastics earlier this month. She's now a gold medal favorite for the upcoming Olympic games, and she's a sophomore at Valley, perhaps the only Valley student with her own Wikipedia entry. Naturally she gets to ride in a cool parade car.

They didn't have a float for a gay student club at Carmel High School For Boys, but I'm pretty sure they could have.

Bobby and Vickie represented fairmeadows school. I didn't get a good picture of Vickie, but here's Bobby (or Rob, as he calls himself at school):

The game is tonight, and the dance is tomorrow. I'll try to get pictures of Dan and Heather on their way to the dance.
