Change of Plans
This weekend will be slightly less insane than planned. Vickie will drive Dorothy to the Iron Range for Don's memorial service, while the boys and I will stay home. The two-car late-night drive just was more than we could justify doing to the guys.
Unfortunately, that still leaves Vickie to drive Dorothy the whole way, starting tomorrow morning and returning Sunday. It spares the rest of us, but poor Vickie...
It would be nice if she could hitch the car to one of these and sleep on the way.

Poor Long Haul Vickie! I sure hope all this effort is being appreciated. She should be given lavish gifts and days in luxury spas for all the driving she has done.
I can only recommend books on CD. It really helps all those miles fly by. Most libraries have them! Naturally, I drive by myself and don't have to take into account anybody elses taste in literature.
I agree with Peggy, lavish Vickie with gifts- of rest!
When I get a minute I will look at services in Des Moines who do companion/home health. I am glad you are not having to do a late night run with the boys.
