Fairly Busy
Vickie has been on the road since yesterday morning, taking Dorothy for her annual(?) visit to the University of Minnesota medical center, where she got her new liver 19 years ago. That means I have been neglecting the blog. I'm so ashamed. But what can I say? Not only do I miss Vickie terribly, but I'm pretty much overwhelmed without her.
I am overdue to thank Peggy for naming me "Iowa's Premier Tax Blogger." Just like the Cubs, it pays to play in a weak division.
Retta has posted some delightful pictures of Jay, uniformed and entering first grade. I wouldn't want to go back to school, but I'd sure like to see the kids I went to grades 1-8 with - almost all the same kids for eight years. It takes me way back... *sniff*. And Jay looks so grown up!
Now I'd better post a picture or two myself. Back to the state fair, to the SkyGlider:

Sharing Funnel Cake:

Checking out a tractor:

Vickie gets back tomorrow night, and I may have more time to post then.
And now, for your educational edification, we present: Miss Teen South Carolina!
This is who will be taking care of us in the nursing homes...

That pretty young thing should just get her backside back to school. A school that has a map.
I bet that statistic is wrong. I bet most kids can find the United States on a map. The big question is, can they find Scotland! Can you?
Did you notice how the host was trying not to laugh?
Don't worry Joe, she will only be the admissions director ;)
Speaking of St. Pat's, I went to Margie's 40th birthday party this past weekend. She is a hand surgeon practicing at Condell these days.
I am sorry that you have to do without Vickie. I feel certain that she would rather be home with you and the boys.
Peggy-
I can find Scotland on a map - just go to perfidious Albion and head north until you smell the peat and whiskey, right? Mmmm, whiskey...
Retta, I'm glad to her Margie is doing well. I look forward to seeing Vickie; I bet she looks forward to dropping her mom off.
