HA HA HA HA HA!

It couldn't happen to a more worthy team:

Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - Tom Glavine only recorded one out, giving up five hits and seven runs and committing one costly error, and the New York Mets capped one of the largest collapses in baseball history with an 8-1 loss to the Florida Marlins.

Coupled with Philadelphia's 6-1 win over the Nationals, the Mets dropped out of a first-place tie in the NL East, and were eliminated from postseason contention. The Mets held a seven-game lead in the division with 17 games left, but somehow found a way to become the first team in MLB history to squander a lead that large in such a short period of time.

If only it could happen to the Mets every year.

Yes, I remain bitter.
