2008 Pinewood Derby!
Today was Rob's last Pinewood Derby, as he will be a Boy Scout next year. It was a Derby to remember!
The car:
Note the second-place ribbon - by far our best showing over the years. Rob chose the design, a rather stark but menacing look.
Here the den awaits the start of the races:
Gentlemen, start your engines! Look for a spectacular wipeout and the closest race in Pack 280 history.
Rob accepts his second-place ribbon:
And Hunter accepts his champion's medal:
Hunter is the boy who moved to Nebraska awhile back, and Rob saw him there when we went to Curt's wedding reception. His parents moved back here, and Hunter rejoined his old scout pack.
All in all, a good finish to Rob's Derby career.
