Weather Week
It's an old-fashioned cold winter here in Des Moines. I took this picture of our outdoor thermometer an hour ago:
-12F, or for Peggy, -26C.
I toyed with the idea of skiing at Browns Woods this morning, but I decided indoor skiing was advised when I saw -12.
It's supposed to get to freezing on Saturday, though.
Before it got real cold, it snowed again -- right when Dan was going to a gig in Altoona, on the east side of town. He was in an unnamed trio that played the break during the Des Moines Big Band's weekly show. It was fun, but attendance was light with the snow. Two of Dan's music teachers are in the big band, and it was a bit strange to see them being directed.
Tonight Bobby and I go to see Drake's Women's basketball team in an evening outing for my Sertoma club. I hope we can park close.
