Rolling Meadows Jazz!

The Valley jazz bands went to Illinois last week to compete in Jazz in the Meadows in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. It was nice, as my mom, my sister and her kids got to see Dan play. Dan played both his upright and his electric bass; he also played the scary bass player:

But he only plays a scary bass player, he isn't scary really. He enjoyed seeing the family.

His band won third in its class, which is pretty good. Warren High, where my mom went to high school, was the Grand Champion. Go Blue Devils! Top finishers here (out of 115 bands).

Vickie chaperoned, and they got back very late Saturday (technically, early Sunday). Yesterday was recovery day...

I hope Vickie has a quiet week and is able to relax!

It was great to hear Dan play and get to see them both! Anna tells everyone about going to hear Dan play and his instruments.
