Here today, home tomorrow
The weather is very nice in Newport Beach. It seems otherworldly to just walk outside for lunch without mittens and a coat, and to see people in shorts and tee-shirts.
I'm here to work, so I don't get to go to the beach or anything, but it would be churlish to complain about that. As I was inside all day, I didn't have much chance for picture taking. I took these out the window of the office where I was working as I was packing up at the end of the day yesterday.

I get on the airplane at 2:40 this afternoon. It looks like its warming up in Des Moines - high 17F today! It should be 5-10 when I deplane tonight. Back to the real world.

I lived in Newport Beach in 1982. I never got out to Catalina Island though.
Though the ocean is great, I still prefer Iowa.
