Band bash at Vets
Last night all of the West Des Moines school concert bands played a program at old Veterans Auditorium in downtown Des Moines. There were over 1000 musicians - 5th grade band, 6th Grade bands, and the combinded junior high and high-school bands. It was quite a sight.

A concerned dad in the lower right part of the frame is watching Bobby take this picture from the upper back row.
With siblings, parents and grandparents, I would guess there were maybe 6000 people there. It was quite the sight, and noise. Especially when the fire alarm went off (false alarm).
Dan played snare on one number...

... and bells on two.

Unfortunately, Blogger is driving me nuts by not properly displaying pictures in a vertical frame. Too bad, because Dan looked so dapper...

We have a 6'11 guy in the office. He played tuba. I think you're on to something!
Dan does scrub up very well! I'm impressed that he doesn't get intimidated by the size of the venue!
