We have a dog!
We got a dog!

Vickie spotted this beagle on the Animal Rescue League website Thursday night, so we all went down to their Southridge Mall location to visit him after work. We liked him, and we filled out the paperwork, and they called this morning to say we were accepted as adoptive doggie parents.

We have never had a pet. We usually had a dog in the house when I was little, but for allergy and craziness reasons, we never got one, even though the boys have always wanted one. And now we have Brownie.
He is very mellow, which is apparently not the beagle way. The story is he was owned by an old lady who kept him outside, and who turned him into the ARL when he dug too many holes in the backyard. The old owner called him "Dink," which we decided to change to "Brownie." Nobody really liked the name "Dink," and it could make it awkward when Dan's Asian friends come by.

He's a great pal.

That's WONDERFUL news! The boys sure look happy about Brownie's arrival! Well done to Vickie again for having such a good idea! We've had a rescued dog two times now and not had any trouble (knocking on wood).
Awww! I am so jelous. I have wanted a dog for years. pout.
Will Brownie race out the door like Prince did?
Peggy-
Thanks, that's reassuring.
Retta- the first time I went out the front door with him, he smacked into it, so I think he's afraid to sneak out. :-)
