Max Wellman Trio

So what interesting stuff happened while I was away at the tax mines? Well, Dan quit his job at Hy-Vee, for starters. With a full course load, it was getting harder to justify spending time bagging groceries while homework needed doing.

The decision became easier awhen Dan started getting regular work playing bass for the Max Wellman Trio. Max is a talented singer who goes to Des Moines Roosevelt High. The Trio plays semi-regular gigs at Des Moines music venues where Dan can earn as much in two hours as he could all weekend at Hy-Vee.

Their setlist is jazz standards - think Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. Here they are playing Palmer's Deli on Ingersoll:



Ben Wedeking is the other piece of the trio. Sometimes a drummer sits in, and Max has other ensembles. They are fun to watch!
