Lights on!

Thanks to Dan and Bobby, the house Christmas lights are up!

Good thing, too. Everything is covered with ice after yesterday's storm, and it would be impossible to hang anything right now. Here's what Dan's car looked like at the height of the storm:

So far, we're lucky. We have power, and there isn't too much tree damage, even though the trees are still coated with ice. This tree is downtown:

The boys had a snow day yesterday, but school reopened today. The ice makes everything very pretty and shiny, but I fear what could happen if the wind picks up before the ice melts. There are thousands in Southern Iowa and Missouri who still have no electricity. So far, so good.

Good job on the lights Dan & Rob! They look great!

Man, I don't miss ice storms. The last year I was in Iowa there was a big ice storm. (just before Dan was born) I couldn't even walk to the car, so we all just stayed at home. Thankfully the power stayed on for us.

I am hoping the big storm before Christmas is snow rather than ice.
