Not dead yet!

Yes, I've been pretty pathetic at posting. Sorry. A quick update:

- The remodeling has gotten underway this week. We are redoing the upstairs bathroom, the one where I did the job on the pipes not long ago. We are also redoing the kitchen. That has required a lot of moving stuff around and out of the affected areas. The kitchen is as yet unaffected, but it will go out of service maybe late next week.

- Meanwhile, Vickie is moving her mother into Wesley Acres, a retirement - assisted living place. That involves cleaning out and disposing of all of Dorothy's accumulated stuff from 79 years and two husbands, including several vanloads of clothes and a grand piano. Oh, and selling her apartment.

- I've been digging out from the accumulated work from the October 15 mini-tax season and my week at CPE. I also had to write a 20-page manual for a tax course I'm teaching next month.

- Dan finished marching band season with a flurry of competitions, only to go right into all-state auditions (he made it!) and rehearsal for his job in the pit orchestra for the high school showing of West Side Story opening tonight - all while applying to colleges and keeping up his grades on a heavy course load.

- Rob finished this week at the top of the "chess ladder" in chess club. Yay, Rob!

- Brownie is feeling a bit neglected.

Oh, and Vickie had a birthday this week!

In short, things are a bit busy around here, but everyone is well. I will try to post more, really I will.
