Cool and foggy sounds really nice right now.

It is Iowa summer. I just let Brownie out in the back yard and the ground is hot and the grass is dewey. It couldn't possibly be more humid. 75 degrees at 5 am! and 90% humidity, forecast high of 89. Thank goodness I have a desk job in a cool office. Still, I miss the cool fogginess of the Lake Superior North Shore.



At least we have the mighty mighty Cubs to distract us from the heat. They just took four from the Brewers at Milwaukee, opening up a nice lead in their division. That must make my Mom happy. Cubs Go! Rob and I went to see the Iowa Cubs last night; it was Sertoma night at the ballpark, where the deaf kids from the baseball camp we sponsor get to go on the field and sign the national anthem. Even the AAA Iowa Cubs are playing well; they scored six runs in the first inning and cruised to an 8-1 win. Yay!
