Independence Day!

It's been a busy weekend, one that is worth more than one post. This one will have to do for awhile, though. Rob is at Cub Scout Camp this week. Vickie will spend the days there, and I will work during the day and stay at the camp at night - an arrangement that will probably keep me from posting much.

Vickie and Rob marched in the parade July 3:

I ran into an the sister of an old friend who moved away a few years ago; I also met her husband, a nice guy who has won a battle with cancer, but at the cost of the use of his legs - a tough blow for a guy who used to run marathons. We are very lucky to have kept our health, knock wood.

We had the family of Dan's girlfriend, Heather, over for an Independence Day cookout, and we watched fireworks from the backyard. We went to a big music festival downtown on Saturday; Dan and Heather went almost all day; Rob, Vickie and I did part of the afternoon and part of the evening. We saw Drive By Truckers, Yonder Mountain String Band, Jakob Dylan and Pieta Brown. Dan saw a bunch more. He had the camera, so I'm hoping he'll put up some pictures.
