Rah Rah Mitigwa!
This was Camp Mitigwa week for Rob's cub scout pack. Vickie, one of the Den Leaders, was there for the daytime activities; I commuted for the camping. Lots of rain, lots of heat, lots of bugs, and lots of fun.

Campfire marshmallows and smores are always popular.

Here Rob learns a valuable skill: hanging clothes to dry. Later that night we learned another valuable skill: getting the clothes off the line before the storm arrives.

Here Colonel Claypool supervises the "egg drop," where each campground in Mitigwa builds a device to cushion an egg to keep it from breaking when it is dropped from the parapet of Fort Pella. We had by far the heaviest device.
It's so much easier to sleep through a thunderstorm when you are in a house than in a tent. It's also easier to sleep in an air-conditioned house than in a tent outdoors in near 100% humidity in the summer. If nothing else, it's a helpful way to appreciate everyday luxuries we take for granted.
