Where did December go?
December is nearly done, and I have neglected this blog. The immediate causes were the general hectic time of the year and untimely colds, which sapped my energy and enthusiasm. But 2008 will be different!!!
I'll have new excuses!
While December has been busy, it hasn't been full of adventure on the high seas or grand outdoor decorating projects. Christmas was a highlight, of course.
The guys opened the presents...

...under the watchful eyes of Dorothy and Vickie.

I think the turkey came out well.

Dan and I tackled a major home project -- at least major by my low standards -- by replacing the kitchen ceiling fan. With the help of a shim, which maybe won't be so noticeable if we paint it the same color as the ceiling, it came out ok. It almost looks like Dan framed this photo to hide the shim. Smart boy, that Dan.

He's been busy on break, with several gigs, including his first wedding gig. Musicians have an interesting perspective:
"Who got married, Dan?"
"I don't know, but the Dad tipped the band $100."
Anyway, sorry for the lack of posting, and I resolve to do better... Happy new year!

I hope Santa was good to everybody and isn't too broke going into the new year!
I must say that turkey looks fantastic!! Turkey is the one thing I've really really missed this year.
Well done on the ceiling fan. They're tougher than you'd think. They will go wobby if not balanced properly.
I love the Christmas photos! I agree that the turkey looks very tasty.
