Journey to the heart of darkness
Up late packing, up early to go to the airport. I think I slept from about Midnight to 3:30 am Vickie slept even less. And the adventure begins...
Vickie and Dan went straight to New York City with the rest of the Valley Orchestra, which plays Carnegie Hall Wednesday (woo hoo!) . Bobby and I were left on our own, so we decided to see the sights in D.C. We'll take a train Tuesday to NYC to see the concert and continue the vacation from there.
We had a non-stop and we got to town about 11:00. We checked in at the hotel, got lunch, and went walking. Washington makes it hard to get your mind off of work:

In front of the Treasury Building
We walked down to the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the new World War II Memorial, and the Vietnam Wall, among other places...

It was a lot of walking. Bobby held up well, though, and we came back to the room to unwind. Bobby turned on the TV and got strangely quiet...

Great idea, Bobby! More pictures to come, maybe after dinner and naps.

They still look like angels when they're asleep. Does Bobby know that you've made that photo public?
Hope the concert went well and that you and V have caught up on sleep!
The Concert isn't until the 20th. Bobby and I still have a few more days of guy bonding...
