Helsinki dreams

Or, how my subconscious spent last night.

Setting: Vickie and Are in Helsinki for the weekend to see Béla Fleck and Edgar Meyer perform. While we were there, we surprised Sini, our first Finnish exchange student , who was working in a fancy job at a department store.

The concert was in a venue that was under renovation. Only the first 20 rows were open and the rest were in a construction zone.

Somehow a Finland navy ship that was leaving harbor on only about 2 feet of water was involved. Not sure why I was on it.

I woke briefly and related this to Vickie and fell back to sleep.

Then I was back in Helsinki, it was late winter or spring, and I was preparing for my Finnish driving test. I wanted to have my Finnish drivers permit before coming back for Sini’s wedding. The driving test required me to know how to properly fold a tent, and I was practicing  that.

At one point, I successfully sledded down a street on my hands and knees.

My sister made a cameo appearance in the dream to give me a pen and pencil to take the test with.

In real life, we have tickets to see Béla July 6. In Des Moines.
