Battle of the Bands, 2007

We take a break from our travelogue to bring you photos of last night's Valley High School battle of the Bands. Dan's Band, "Rocket Transfer," entered. They didn't win, though I thought they were the best of the five bands I heard (there were eight entries).

They opened the set with the Eagles "Hotel California," which was popular with the parents, as a welcome contrast to the the loud thrash metal jam that preceded them (having been to one of these before, I remembered to bring earplugs).

I thought it was a good sign when the drummer and rythym guitarist of a competing band (the girls in the middle) started dancing to them.

Dan does harmony vocals.

At least we don't have to buy Dan special band shoes.
