Goodbye, range. Hello, range!
We bid farewell to the old range that came with the house yesterday. For some reason Blogger doesn't want to post the picture vertically, but since it's dead, maybe it's right that it is shown on its side...

It was an Admiral, which Wikipedia says was the now-defunct Montgomery Ward's private label.

It had died, and the appliance repair guy said it wasn't worth fixing. We had a new one picked out from an appliance store, but they said they wouldn't even order it until they could get a truckload ordered. Needing one for the Christmas turkey, that didn't work, so Vickie ran to Sears, where they said, no problem.
The Sears truck arrived yesterday with the new Kenmore electric range.
All the new ranges have 5 burners - one is a "warming" burner, to keep stuff warm without hardening it to the pan.

The front-left burner is supposed to be some kind of super-fast burner, for Vickie's big pots of pasta water. The front right one can be either a big burner, like for a skillet, or a small one for a saucepan.

So now we can cook the Christmas turkey. Calm is restored in the Kristan kitchen.
