Going to the Faire

Rob and I went to the local Renaissance Faire yesterday out by the state fairgrounds. At first I was mortified that anybody would see me, but I ended up enjoying it. It's the place where you feel at home, no matter how nerdy you are, and it's good that there are places like that.

Rob proved to be quite the fencer. He went up against a "champion" for four matches, with the winner decided by who popped the balloon duct-taped on the opponent's head. Just like in Medeval times, I'm sure. Here Rob is set for his first match:



Rob showed fine form, winning 3 of four bouts.



His "champion" finally resorted to the "Brave Brave Sir Robin" strategy, but to no avail.
