Lunch

I'm anti-social today, so I go to lunch alone (but I usually do). I heard of a new Indian restaurant on the Skywalk, so I thought I'd check it out. The food was good, but the place was empty, which added sad to my grumpiness.

I sit down to read about the Cubs on the Chicago Tribune Kindle edition, and end up finding an article about the mighty UNI Panthers, when someone asks to sit with me. I said sure, my surprise overcoming my crabbiness.

So Krishna introduces himself, telling me hates eating alone. Seeing there wasn't anybody else there, I was the only alternative. He asks about the Kindle, and we get to talking about what he is reading. I get in five minutes an extensive discussion of reserve banking, the Fed, and how the Indian and US banking systems differ. He finds the U.S. system fraudulent, and I wasn't in any mood to argue with him. Smart guy, has been in US 2 1/2 years.

So I wasted 75 cents on my Trib, but I met somebody new, and ate at a good new lunch place. A little victory.
