Nine Years Old!

We went to Ohanas last night. It's a Japanese-style place where you sit and watch the cook fix your dinner and entertain you with fancy knife work. It's a birthday favorite of the boys. We shared the table and chef with a family that has four birthdays this week - triplet boys who turn seven and their sister who turns nine. That must have been quite a shock for her seven years ago.

We came home and opened a few presents, though we are waiting for big brother to return from Ireland for the "real" party. Bobby seemed to enjoy the presents:

Don and Dorothy didn't join us. Don wasn't feeling well; Vickie ended up the evening driving him to the hospital, where he was admitted. We hope he's out soon.

We heard from Dan, indirectly. He posted a message on his girlfriend Heather's Facebook saying his phone card didn't work (it was the same one we sent him to england with four years ago; it was supposed to still have 500 minutes). He asked Heather to tell us he was OK, and that he would be buying a new phone card there. That leads me to infer that the ATM card we sent with him for spending money DOES work, which is good. He says he loves Ireland. Heather was nice enough to pass the message to us as soon as she got it.

And somehow he ordered a new song for his I-pod off of I-Tunes; we got the bill. So all is well overseas.
