Beating the drums into submission

Last night was the Valley High Marchmasters "ice cream social." The high point was watching a rehearsal of the band whose members the parents have been getting to school at 6:30 a.m. for rehearsal.

Unfortunately, Dan ran into a little technical difficulty. He is the drummer in the center of the picture. Take a look at his drums, and those on the drummer to your left. The sets are supposed to be identical.

During the performance for the parents, Dan's drum set was falling apart, with several of the screws holding it together coming loose. I didn't realize what was happening, but he didn't seem to have his usual confidence out there!

You can see it even better if you click on the picture to enlarge it (you can do that with all pictures I post here).

Now that this has happened to Dan, he will be SO vigilent about checking that things are bolted together properly and he will be a more experienced marching band drummer because of it. Sorry that happened to him! At least it didn't happen during the Homecoming game!
