Walnut Street, then and now.

I love finding pictures of Des Moines from the old days.  Here is an old one of Walnut Street, from the 1920s or maybe early '30s, judging from the cars.

I tried to take a picture from the same spot today, using the Younkers building on the left as my landmark.

Not quite the same.
