Unusual week in the old house.  Rob is in China; we got this picture emailed to us of Rob in the hotel where the Orchestra spent its first night in Beijing.  He is now staying with a family 3+ hours away.  I assume it's going OK, as the State Department hasn't had any complaints yet.

Meanwhile, Anne is in New York City as part of a trip through the exchange student organization.

I took her to the airport at 5 am yesterday, but even that early, she was a good sport, posing for this picture at a motorcycle on display at the airport, for reasons that evade me.

She asked, logically enough, why it's Des Moines "International" Airport.  I didn't have a good answer, but their web site says they have a customs office and the airport handles 300 international flights per year.  From where, I have no idea.

Meanwhile, Big Brother Dan is going against the trend.  He's home...
