Normal Iowa driving
It's going down to -12F tonight. The cold weather reminds me that two years ago this week Dan and I drove to Bloomington, Indiana on the coldest weekend of the year for a college visit. It was just after a blizzard. That made it more interesting than the usual interstate highway drive, especially between Iowa City and Walcott:

Each accident scene was a temporary monument to somebody's wrecked trip. But one was more impressive than the rest.

Lesson: never try to squeeze your semitrailer through the wrong side of the viaduct pillar.
