Summer Sun Dogs

Saturday night we saw something I hadn't seen before: sun dogs in the summer. I've seen them in winter before after big snowstorms when it is very cold - say 5 below zero farenheit, or something very cold centigrade - but never on a hot muggy day. I did the best I could with the cameraphone; the sun is just out of the picture to the left, and the "second sun" is the right light blob.



They look better in person - like rainbows on each side of the sun.
